The variety of scripts illustrate the range of florid styles used in handwriting as well as in other types of 16th century visual culture such as sculpture and architecture.","physicalDescription":"Tablet, hone stone, carved in relief with the following quotations and paraphrases from the Holy Bible and the Apocrypha, in five different types of writing- (1) Psalm 24, v.1 ; (2) Psalm 37, vv. 1 and 2; (3) Ecclesiastes ch. 2, v. 24; (4) proverbs, ch. 22, vv. 1 to 3; (5) The Book of Wisdom, ch 9, vv. 10, 11. All are in the German language except for (3) which is Latin. There are traces of gilding.
