Earlier campaigns were initiated by the government but gradually, since the later 1950s, this group became a registered charity and the government's official agency for campaigning against litter. This is one of three posters in the collection created for the 'Clean 90s' campaign, launched in 1988. The campaign won an award for its posters in 1992 at the Festival des Affiches, Chaumont, France, and were billboarded as 48 sheet posters in Britain, 1990.","physicalDescription":"Colour offset poster depicting a man in a dark suit sitting in a red car, emptying the car's ashtray out the window.
