These were all made from\r\nlow grade timber of a single thickness, such\r\nas might be used for packing cases, and\r\nemployed simple screwed joints. The \r\nfurniture was packed flat for home assembly.\r\nThese pieces contrast with his earlier\r\ndesigns which were based on a rigorous\r\naesthetic programme.
