This poster by Krzysztof Ducki recalls the events of 1968 when Soviet-led forces repressed the Prague Spring reform movement in Czechoslovakia. The year '68', formed by gun barrels, is raised up as the symbol of a year that should be remembered. The Hungarian designer Krzysztof Ducki was in Prague in November 1989 when the Velvet Revolution swept the communists from power in Czechoslovakia. The year '68' can be read as '89' inverted.","physicalDescription":"Poster","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Ducki, Krzysztof","id":"A7714"},"association":{"text":"designer","id":"x36960"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Interart Studio","id":"A24790"},"association":{"text":"published by","id":"x28702"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"printing ink","id":"AAT187371"},{"text":"paper","id":"x30308"}],"techniques":[{"text":"printing","id":"AAT53319"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Screenprint in red and black printed on paper","categories":[{"text":"Prints","id":"THES48903"},{"text":"Propaganda","id":"THES48902"},{"text":"Politics","id":"THES48908"},{"text":"Posters","id":"THES252963"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2007BR3417"],"imageResolution":"low","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"LVLC","id":"THES49171"},"free":"","case":"MB2E","shelf":"DR109","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"poster","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"No","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Hungary","id":"x28910"},"association":{"text":"designed and printed","id":"x37573"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1989","earliest":"1989-01-01","latest":"1989-12-31"},"association":{"text":"designed and printed","id":"x37573"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Mücsarnok, Budapest, through Krisztina Jerger","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"99.4","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"68.9","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Poster by Krzysztof Ducki from the Pro-democracy Poster Collection.
