An edition illustrated by Rackham was published by The Limited Editions Club, New York, in 1940, with this illustration facing page 16. When you look closely at the gnarled trunks of the two pollarded willow trees you can see that Rackham has turned them into characters in the story by giving them grotesque faces.\r\n\r\nPen and ink and watercolour on card\r\n\r\nMuseum no.
