She was obviously concerned to capture a cross-section of the Russian population by representing as many different social and architectural types as possible. Little is known about the photographer herself; but it is likely that she was a highly educated daughter of a consul-general in Odessa (Odesa), able to pursue photography as a hobby. She also wrote about Russian peasant crafts and artwork and published several books about Western painters.","briefDescription":"Photograph by Netta Peacock, depicting a Russian political poster, gelatin-silver print, Russia, ca. 1902-1910","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"<u>Victoria and Albert Museum Department of Prints, Drawings and Paintings Accession Register for 1990</u>"}],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[{"text":"Russia","id":"x29110"}],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[{"text":"poster","id":"AAT27221"}],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["E.2550-1990"],"accessionNumberNum":"2550","accessionNumberPrefix":"E","accessionYear":1990,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-04-11","recordCreationDate":"2009-02-23","availableToBook":false}}
