Larionov not only designed the costumes and sets but also, jointly with the principal dancer Thadée Slavinsky, created the choreography. It was some years before the ballet was produced and it was shown fro the first time in Paris at the Théâtre de la Gaîteé-Lyrique on 17 May 1921.
