Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who annexed Kashmir in 1819, were said to line the interiors of tents with them. Kashmir shawls also enjoyed royal favour abroad. Several portraits of Empress Josephine of France feature her wearing a bright red Kashmir shawl of the same style as the one displayed here.","date":{"text":"01/08/2017","earliest":"2017-08-01","latest":"2017-08-01"}}],"partNumbers":["IS.50-1967"],"accessionNumberNum":"50","accessionNumberPrefix":"IS","accessionYear":1967,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2026-03-30","recordCreationDate":"1999-12-23","availableToBook":false}}
