Like a forensic survey with a remit for posterity, they set out to catalogue the uncatalogued. The images often comment on the role of commodities in modern life and here a domestic interior is transformed into an ‘Ideal Home’. These photographs in turn become a historic record of everyday life: they present a collection of designs and goods particular to suburban Britain in the late 1980s.
