His left arm uis outstretched towards the angel above him, while his right hand is raised. The flying angel holds a chalice surmounted by a cross in his right hand, his left hand expressing a gesture of grief. To Christ's left side is seated St John, resting his head on his hand, while St Peter lies across the foreground with the sword before him. In the foreground on the right St James is seen crouched in profile. Visible in the distance are the walls and towers of Jerusalem; Judas is shown in dialogue with two soldiers, pointing with his right arm towards Christ; other soldiers pass through a gateway, and another figure is shown climbing over the fence next to it","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Kayser, Victor","id":"A24629"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28674"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"limestone","id":"AAT11286"}],"techniques":[{"text":"carving","id":"AAT53149"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"limestone and carved","categories":[{"text":"Reliefs","id":"THES49035"}],"styles":[{"text":"Renaissance","id":"AAT21140"}],"collectionCode":{"text":"SCP","id":"THES48600"},"images":["2009CB7276","2006AV0294","2017JT8973"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"64 (VA)","id":"THES49735"},"free":"","case":"7","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Relief","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Augsburg","id":"x32552"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"ca. 1530-1535","earliest":"1525-01-01","latest":"1535-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Murray Bequest","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"28.7","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"37.2","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Depth","value":"2","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"Measured for the Medieval and Renaissance Galleries","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"Formerly in the collection of Sir Francis Cook, Doughty House, Richmond.
