It was cast in Florence, probably in the 15th century, from the marble relief by Desiderio da Settignano in Turin. Another cast, but rectangular in shape and in painted stucco, is also in the collection (5767-1859).\r\n\r\nThe surface of this relief is not pigmented and the two haloes are made of gilded gesso.
