Hungarian iridescent glass was invented by the doctor,chemist and inventor Leo Valentin Pantosek (1812-1893) who worked at J.G. Zahn's glassworks.  The glass was first exhibited in the interanational exhibition, Vienna, 1857 and shapes were derived from historic sources.
