In the centre of the plate is 'STATELY HOMES 1996' with a circular floral motif surrounded by the name of the twelve months in circles with the dates below each month.  Edge of the plate has 12 circles each with a different countryside estate with building as the central point, including Lyme Hall, Wentworth Castle, and Lulworth Castle. The plate is filled with additional decoration in between the stately homes with small wedgwood plaques and ironwork.
