Each medal is distributed by The Gratitude Bloc, an anonymous group that seeks to honour climate activists at a time of increasing criminalisation of environmental protests in the UK. \n\r\nIn 2025, more than ten climate activists were imprisoned for their involvement in non-violent protests in the UK. This medal and its design are inspired by the Suffragette movement, which campaigned for women’s right to vote at the beginning of the 20th century.\n\r\nThe multi-part design means it can be worn as a whole, or disassembled into individual brooches.
