Pinkerton  examines the “photograph as object” in order to interrogate feminist autotheory and  post-coloniality. Her work oscillates between the personal and the socio-political, a  material-heavy approach to the camera becoming a tool to examine the world, primarily  through her own body. \r\n\nPinkerton’s works use the language of fashion to ask questions about the world we  have built and currently live in. She  inverts self portraiture, using it to reflect on wider  feminist and post-colonial concepts.
