Bone china is a body made from clay, feldspathic rock and flint, with the addition of about fifty percent of calcined bone ash. Josiah Wedgwood II introduced bone china at the Wedgwood Etruria factory in 1812. Manufacture was discontinued in 1822, though orders were being accepted as late as 1829.
