They each have a cream silk label sewn into the inner waistband of the trousers, with gold cursive embroidered writing on it one pair has faded handwriting in pen on top of this label. One pair also have an additional fabric label with yellow writing embroidered on it.\n\n<b>Parts 6 and 7: Trousers</b>\nTwo identical pairs of trousers. Bright cream, straight leg heavy cotton trousers. They have elasticated waistbands with belt loops, and fasten with a concealed brass metal zip and button. There are two pockets on the front, and two on the back of each; the back pockets have brass buttons. In the inside of trousers at the front, there is a navy fabric label sewn in with embroidered text in silver. There is also a white fabric label sewn underneath that, with black embroidered text.\n\n<b>Part 8: <b>Sweater Vest</b></b>\nCricket-style, cream coloured sweater vest with a V neck. There are navy coloured bands around the neck, shoulders and bottom hem. There is cable knitting across the front centre of the sweater vest. There is a a cream silk label sewn into the inner neckline of the sweater vest, with gold cursive embroidered writing on it. Has an all over pattern of closely checked tartan, in red, orange, green and navy. Has a jade green coloured silk lining. The jacket fastens with two large cream plastic buttons at the front. There are two pockets on the outside of the jacket, one on each hip, and two internal breast pockets. There is a navy fabric label sewn into the inner neckline of the jacket with gold writing embroidered on it. In the right hand inside breast lining of the jacket, there is a cream silk label embroidered with gold cursive text, with handwriting in pen over the top of it.\n\n<b>Part 10: <b>Belt</b></b>\nBlack plastic belt with light blue felt lining. It has a gold square metal buckle. There is black pen handwriting inside the belt, which has been crossed out.\n\n<b>Parts 11 and 12: <b>Shoes</b></b>\nWhite leather soft jazz shoes. They have a slim shape and rounded toes, and tie with cream laces. They have leather soles with a slight block heel. There is some faint printed block writing on the inner heels of each shoe.  There is some black pen handwriting inside the tongue of each shoe. There is also embossed text in gold on the insole of each shoe, and on the bottom of the soles.\n\n<b>Part 13: <b>Hat</b></b>\nBright red, velvet, round, structured, brimless hat, with gold beaded embroidery around the band in an intricate pattern. Thompson was employed as the drummer for David Bowie's <i>Serious Moonlight</i> tour in 1983, to provide a funk-inspired powerful beat to the band. Thompson's costume, which was designed by Peter Hall, consists of a checked sports coat, sweater vest and light trousers in the preppy, sporty 'Ivy Style' of early 20th century America, juxtaposed with an ornate red velvet beaded hat reminiscent of Kufis.\r\n\r\nIn <i>The Complete David Bowie, </i>Nicholas Pegg writes that as well as designing Bowie's costumes for this tour, Peter Hall '... also designed the band's costumes, which Bowie described as \"a slight parody on the New Romantics...\"' He states that 'Hall cast each musician against a different cultural backdrop. \"He saw Carlos as the Gandhi type, or actually more of a prince,\" said Bowie. The Simmons brothers wore striped blazors and fedoras, Carmine Rojas a sailor's cap and sarong, and David LeBolt a [conical straw] hat. The three-man sax section were dressed as a Cossack, an Alpine Mountaineer and a safari hunter. Only latecomer Earl Slick appeared to escape Hall's attentions, sporting a standard rock-guitarist T-shirt and a Knopfler-style headband.'\n\nThese costumes also contain sewn in labels with the name 'Grace Costumes New York'. Grace Costumes was established in New York in 1961 by sisters Grace Miceli and Maria Brizzi. They developed a reputation for high quality theatrical costume making.
