After an initial biscuit firing, he painstakingly applies dots of glaze to his sculptures to blur the boundaries between reality and illusion. The porcelain figurine of Ariel from <i>The Little Mermaid</i> at the top refers to Tokyo Disneyland’s opening in 1983.
