Bowie had originally visited the island to see Mick Jagger, who had an estate there along with Princess Margaret. Taken by the beauty of the island, he bought a plot of land there in 1986. By 1989, work was completed on his estate by architects and designers Arne Hasselqvist and Robert J. Litwiller. Bowie owned the estate until 1994, and the family would regularly spend Christmases there. \n\nIn 1990, the image was licensed for free to the charity Save the Children, allowing the organisation to sell posters of the image. \r\n\nIn 2002, Bowie released a limited run of 175 lithographic prints of this painting via his website Bowieart.com.
