There are also three stripes of black velvet edged in red cord across each arm. The gown is gathered at the nape of the neck. The shoulders are padded and the wide sleeves are gathered at a cuff at the wrist. There is a grey decorative woven cord from the back of the neck, fastened at the upper back with a grey fabric-covered button. A plastic zip fastens the gown down the centre front and there is a metal hook and eye at the front collar.\n\nWorn with a doctoral hood of black synthetic fabric with a wide, pale pink velvet edge. The inside is lined in silver satin with a wide red stripe. There are black cord loops attached at the centre of the collar and at the right edge, and there is a black plastic button at the left edge.\n\nA black velvet eight-sided cap with a gold metallic tassel hanging from the left edge. The tassel is fastened under a decorative button covered with stripes of various gold threads, which connects to another button at the centre top of the cap with a twisted gold metallic thread.
