Citta is a USA based non-profit organization working in India and Nepal to bring health, education and economic development of women to impoverished regions.\r\n\r\nCelebrities were asked to give an inspiring word that meant something to them. These were then translated into Sanskrit, and encorporated into a scarf design by Lucy Barnes. The scarves were handknitted by the Citta Himilaya Women's Centre in Nepal. \r\n\r\nDavid Bowie contributed the word 'Funk'.  Thandie Newton 'Surrender' , Scarlett Johansson 'Reuse', David Byrne 'Dust' , Susan Sarandon 'Awake', Queen Latifah 'Strength', Sting 'Resolve', and Natalie Merchant 'Silent'.\r\n\r\nThe scarves were available in two colours; grey and camel. The proceeds from the scarf sales went towards Citta's charitable work.
