The circular wooden base is painted orange, and on the underside is a photo transfer of the artist's face inside a lightning bolt. \n\n<b>Part 2: Moon accessory</b>\nA cream plastic crescent moon. \n\n<b>Part 3: Box</b>\nThe mannequin sits inside a timber box which has been decorated inside with red, black and grey paper patterned with floral motifs and Chinese characters. The Chinese characters read 'Spring Dawn', a poem by Meng Haoran. She says that 'as a creative challenge I decided my art studio mannequins were ripe for a deliciously glam transformation into audaciously creative personas of some of my favourite artists – those who dance with the muse till their feet bleed, or she begs for mercy or …more. Bowie was the obvious first choice.'\n\nIn 2011, The David Bowie Archive/ Isolar Enterprises Inc. comissioned a full series of 9 of these mannequins, for addition to the archive.
