As a portrait photographer, her work as been featured in Vogue, i-D and Elle. As a director, she has worked with various brands and artists including Spotify, Nike, Skepta and Jorja Smith. Rose is one of few female photographers who have documented the Grime scene, and in 2016 she published This is Grime with journalist Hattie Collins.\n\nThis image was created in 2016 for This is Grime. Grime producer Danny Weed was asked to provide a message about the future of music, and wrote ‘Thank Wiley for Grime music’. MC and producer Wiley cemented his position as a musical pioneer in the early 2000s through the release of his ‘eskibeat’ instrumental tracks created on basic computer software, formulating a new genre that earned him the title ‘Godfather of Grime’, and in 2017 he was awarded an MBE for his services to music. However, following his publishing of antisemitic comments on various social media profiles in 2020, his MBE was revoked and his accounts suspended. \r\n\r\nAs the 2000s progressed, Grime bubbled to the surface of the underground scene with the commercial success garnered by artists like Dizzee Rascal. By 2016, the genre was experiencing a mainstream resurgence as some of its original proponents and new faces began releasing new music within the genre. \r\n","physicalDescription":"A photograph of a handwritten note in black ink on white paper that reads \"Thank Wiley for Grime music\", underlined and signed by Danny Weed.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Olivia Rose","id":"AUTH401776"},"association":{"text":"photographers","id":"AAT25687"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"paper (fiber product)","id":"AAT14109"}],"techniques":[{"text":"photography","id":"AAT54225"},{"text":"Giclée","id":"THES252788"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Giclée print on Hahnemühle Photo Rag paper","categories":[{"text":"Photographs","id":"THES48910"},{"text":"","id":""},{"text":"","id":""},{"text":"Music","id":"THES253065"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"T&P","id":"THES48602"},"images":["2025PD1815","2025PD1816"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"CAGE","id":"THES49689"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"photographs","id":"AAT46300"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"no","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"London","id":"x28980"},"association":{"text":"photographed","id":"x30151"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"2016","earliest":"2016-01-01","latest":"2016-12-31"},"association":{"text":"photographed","id":"x30151"},"note":""},{"date":{"text":"2024","earliest":"2024-01-01","latest":"2024-12-31"},"association":{"text":"printed","id":"x46159"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"46.9","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"Paper","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"56.8","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"Paper","note":""},{"dimension":"Height","value":"46.9","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"Image","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"56.8","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"Image","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"Danny Weed \"Thank Wiley for Grime Music\"\nFrom This Is Grime 2016\nPrinted 2024\n1 of 1\nOlivia Rose","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"","note":"Artist's caption on verso, lower right corner"},{"content":"Stamped image of a red rose","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"","note":"Artist's logo"}],"objectHistory":"Taken in 2016.
