To help decide upon the setlist, Bowie ran a telephone poll by which to determine the most popular songs for each continent. The NME, in response to the poll, ran a spoof campaign entitled 'Just Say Gnome' in an effort to have the song 'The Laughing Gnome' (1967) included in the setlist.
