Unlike the standard pocket version, it had two styluses, making it larger.  Fewer than 3,000 units were ever produced and sold, and production ended in 1980. \n\nDavid Bowie used stylophones from early in his career; he famously used a classic model Stylophone on 'Space Oddity' in 1969 (LOAN:AMERICASFOUNDATION.1154-2024). \n\nThe original David Bowie archive record keeping team notes the following of this 350S stylophone;\n\n'From eBay. Seller used DB's photo to advertise it'. This would suggest that Bowie bought the stylophone sometime between 1995-2000s (eBay was founded in 1995). \n\nThere is evidence in the archive of Bowie utilising eBay to track down and buy back objects and memorabilia that he previously owned.
