Scale 1:24.\r\n\r\nKinky Boots was adapted from the 2005 British film of the same name, inspired by a real Northampton shoe factory. The book was written by Harvey Fierstein, with music and lyrics by Cyndi Lauper. The musical follows Charlie Price, who has inherited his father's failing shoemaking business, Price & Son. On a trip to London, Charlie meets the drag and cabaret performer Lola. Forming a plan to save the factory, Charlie and Lola collaborate to produce a line of high-heel boots designed for drag queens. \r\n\r\nFirst staged in Chicago in 2012, Kinky Boots opened on Broadway at the Al Hirschfield Theatre, New York in 2013. The show also opened in the West End at the Adelphi Theatre, London in 2015. Winning six Tony Awards in 2013, including Best Musical and Best Original Score, the West End production went on to win three Olivier Awards for Best New Musical, Best Actor in a Musical (Matt Henry) and Best Costume Design (Gregg Barnes) (2017).
