Moseley comissioned these boots to be custom-made by Gohil's Leather Shop in Camden, London. \n\nIn encore of the<i> Glass Spider</i> show, Bowie would appear at the top of the spider's head on  the roof of the stage in this costume, performing the song 'Time' while suspended 60 feet  in the air. Moseley and Bowie discussed the costume as an expression of the idea of disrupting or  dismantling the objectified, deified status that Bowie had reached by the late 1980s.
