The jumpsuit, entitled \"Woodland Creatures\", was made by Yamamoto for his 1971 Tokyo/London collection, and was shown at his first fashion show in London in July of that year. Harpers &amp; Queen (a forerunner of Harper's Bazaar) reported on the show, dedicating the magazine cover and a six-page editorial to the designer. Bowie later stated that this editorial was the inspiration for his Ziggy Stardust red mullet haircut, relaying that \"the Ziggy hairstyle was taken lock, stock and barrel from a Kansai display in Harpers\".\n\n\"Woodland Creatures\" was purchased by Bowie from the Boston 151 boutique on the Fulham Road, allegedly \"quite cheaply as nobody wanted to buy it\". It was first worn on stage for the final section of Bowie's shows at the Rainbow Theatre, Finsbury Park on the 19th and 20th August 1972, and became a particularly commonly worn costume by Bowie for the rest of the <i>Ziggy Stardust </i>tours. To cope with this increased use, a duplicate copy was made by Natasha Korniloff, and worn more frequently onstage than the original.
