As the artist was preparing for gender affirming surgery, they developed a fascination with rodeo machines commonly found in pub car parks and at small funfairs. As the last activity a person should engage in immediately after surgery, they looked forward to a time when they would be adequately healed to the stage where they could master riding a mechanical bull, refreshingly injecting humour into a subject often dealt with more sombrely. \nTheir work regularly pictures variations of this figure who Yamusangie used to explore the development of their own masculinity on a physical, personal, and societal level over time.
