She then brings the wireframe in physical form using craft techniques such as plaster mould making and press moulding clay. Eliza’s practice seeks inspiration from two sources: mathematics and historical ornament. She finds elegance, beauty and balance within mathematical relationships, which exists both in the technical challenge of clay as well as in traditional ornaments on Asian architecture such as religious places.
