Many famous artists and modellers have provided suitable subjects for Wedgwood factory production, and on occasion even in the 21st century, this historic method of producing bas-relief portraits is still employed. Individuals past and present have been represented ranging from the Roman Emperors, through to current day members of the Royal family. Maria I (1734 - 1816) was Queen of Portugal. Maria Francisca married her uncle, Pedro, in 1760, and in 1777 was crowned with him as joint sovereign.","physicalDescription":"Framed oval-shape portrait medallion in white Jasperware with black dip, white applied relief of head and shoulders portrait of a woman in Regalia with laurel wreath facing slightly left, frame is metal, possibly ormolu 'Q.
