The type of ware was suggested by Wedgwood’s business partner Thomas Bentley and made against Wedgwood’s inclination, as he was conscious of the inevitable comparison with the traditional redwares. He was reluctant to develop it, unsatisfied with the result, made very little use of it and never listed it in his catalogues.","physicalDescription":"Terracotta red two-handled vase with black reliefs mounted on a socle.
