In 1954 Josiah Wedgwood went into partnership with Thomas Whieldon at his factory in Fenton. It was during his time here Josiah began experimenting with green glazes and cream-coloured earthenware.\r\nThe marbled effect seen here is created by mixing different coloured clays, and was a technique later used by Wedgwood for his agateware.
