Wedgwood creamware, and coloured bodies are still known as Queen's ware, and the name has come to be used, erroneously, as a generic term for creamware of other factories. Small cups like these, known as custard cups, were designed for serving desserts including ice cream and custard. Custard cups were produced by Wedgwood in jasperware and Queen’s ware from the late 18th century, often in sets of four.
