Character sheets such as these are used by players during gameplay to record character information and they become personalised records of each player’s experience. As Techradar.com explains: ‘A D&D character sheet is the  player’s bible as they play throughout the adventure. It has absolutely everything a player needs to tell them their character’s health, class, name, level, stats, items, background, and even spell slots if you choose a class that uses magic.’\r\n\r\nEach edition of D&D, of which there are many, offers different methods to determine character’s ability scores -  for strength, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, dexterity  and charisma. A player then chooses a race (species) eg. elf, human and a character class (occupation) such as wizard or fighter and other features which complete the character’s abilities and backstory.\n\nSince its creation in 1974 by designers Gary Gygax and  Dave Arneson, D&amp;D has remained a popular table- top RPG for people of all ages. It inspired the  hugely successful genre of video game RPGs and in 2021 more than 50 million people played D&amp;D worldwide, representing a 33% year-on-year growth in popularity. Its influence remains huge within the creative industries of game  design, film, model building, fantasy art, immersive storytelling, live-streamed events and creative strategising. At the time of writing you can even book a D&amp;D bespoke holiday.
