He then commissioned Scottish modeller James Tassie to cast 60 copies from the mould and to break the mould afterwards. This is thought to be possibly one of the copies.","physicalDescription":"Plaster cast of the Portland vase painted in red-brown","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"James Tassie","id":"A963"},"association":{"text":"maker","id":"AAT251917"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"plaster","id":"AAT14922"}],"techniques":[{"text":"cast","id":"AAT53104"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"plaster cast painted in dark red","categories":[{"text":"V&A Wedgwood Collection","id":"THES276060"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"WED","id":"THES270009"},"images":["2023NP3437","2023NP3438","2023NP3439"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"WDG1","id":"THES264736"},"free":"","case":"CA27","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"vase","id":"AAT132254"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Rome","id":"x29106"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"ca. 1786","earliest":"1781-01-01","latest":"1790-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"V&A Wedgwood Collection.
