Cream coloured earthenware, or creamware, was renamed Queen's Ware by Wedgwood after it had received the patronage of Queen Charlotte in 1765. Wedgwood creamware, and coloured bodies are still known as Queen's ware, and the name has come to be used, erroneously, as a generic term for creamware of other factories. ","physicalDescription":"Small, painted ceramic to hold a knife, decorated with brown line.","artistMakerPerson":[],"artistMakerOrganisations":[{"name":{"text":"Josiah Wedgwood and Sons","id":"A1450"},"association":{"text":"manufacturers","id":"AAT25230"},"note":""}],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"earthenware","id":"x29356"}],"techniques":[{"text":"Hand-painted","id":"x39976"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Hand-painted Queen's ware","categories":[{"text":"V&A Wedgwood Collection","id":"THES276060"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"WED","id":"THES270009"},"images":["2024NX5053"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"WDGC","id":"THES292797"},"free":"","case":"CA28","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"knife rest","id":"AAT43083"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Etruria","id":"x33200"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1775-1780","earliest":"1775-01-01","latest":"1780-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"V&A Wedgwood Collection.
