She consecrated her virginity to God and resisted the advances of a Roman prefect who thereupon brought her to trial at Antioch. She was condemned to death, but - flames leaving her unhurt, boiling water failing to kill her - she was finally beheaded./ Prayer/ St. Margaret, pray especially for those women about to become mothers.
