The statuette, representing the Abundance, is very close in style and technique to those on the Actaeon fountain and probably from the same foundry. This once formed part of a similar house-fountain complex. On a larger scale, bronze figures of this type formed part of public fountains which became important during this period as expressions of a community's civic identity.
