A short jacket with three panels and a flared hem, the fullness controlled at the shoulders with a section of elasticated smocking or shirring. Stand collar extending into short ties. Opens centre front with narrow facing of self-fabric. Very full elbow length sleeves, each cut from one piece of fabric with deep gathers into shoulder seam, narrow cuffs each stitched subsequently by the wearer to achieve tighter fit.\r\nThe jacket has a small black synthetic twill covered shoulder pad stitched into each shoulder seam. \r\n\r\nThe skirt is fitted at the waist and made of 6 panels which flare out to full length. It closes with a zip and a small hook and eye set to the left of the centre-back. The hem is hand stitched. There are two black cotton skirt hangers set into the waist band.
