The relief (and its companion relief, V&amp;A Mus. no. 153-1869) is modelled and not cast, and was probably made in the studio of Benedetto Buglioni in connection with a similar altarpiece. \n\nBenedetto Buglioni (ca. 1459 -1521) is said to have learned the art of enamelled terracotta from a woman employed in Andrea della Robbia's house.
