Decorative papers from multiple sources, including Japan and Nepal, together with Dutch gold papers, are used to emulate textiles referencing the craft of couture. The work is made on a cut-out of a bespoke Savile Row tailoring pattern referencing Coco’s long love affair with the Duke of Westminster. The work was made in 2020 and captures Coco from the early 1920s referencing the start of the 20s in the 21st century.","physicalDescription":"Collage of patterned printed papers, of a woman with the head of Coco Chanel wearing a brightly patterned dress.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Narielwalla, Hormazd","id":"AUTH348608"},"association":{"text":"artist","id":"AAT25103"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"ink","id":"AAT187371"},{"text":"paper","id":"x30308"}],"techniques":[{"text":"collage","id":"AAT138699"},{"text":"digital","id":"THES271371"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Collage of digital print, hand-cut, on a bespoke tailoring pattern","categories":[{"text":"Fashion","id":"THES48957"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"PDP","id":"THES48595"},"images":["2025PG2250"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"LVLE","id":"THES49657"},"free":"","case":"MP","shelf":"138","box":"A"}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"collage","id":"AAT138699"}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"London","id":"x28980"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"2021","earliest":"2021-01-01","latest":"2021-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Given by Hormazd Narielwalla","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"42","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"sheet","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"29.7","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"sheet","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"HN 2021","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"","note":"in pencil"}],"objectHistory":"","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Hormazd Narielwalla: A Love Affair with Coco No.2, cut paper collage on fragment of dressmaking pattern, 2021","bibliographicReferences":[],"production":"","productionType":{"text":"","id":""},"contentDescription":"","contentPlaces":[],"associatedPlaces":[],"contentPerson":[],"associatedPerson":[],"contentOrganisations":[],"associatedOrganisations":[],"contentPeople":[],"associatedPeople":[],"contentEvents":[],"associatedEvents":[],"contentOthers":[],"contentConcepts":[],"contentLiteraryRefs":[],"galleryLabels":[],"partNumbers":["E.75-2021"],"accessionNumberNum":"75","accessionNumberPrefix":"E","accessionYear":2021,"otherNumbers":[],"copyNumber":"","aspects":["WHOLE"],"assets":[],"recordModificationDate":"2025-10-24","recordCreationDate":"2021-08-19","availableToBook":false}}
