Official wares or <i>guan yao</i> were produced in workshops supervised by imperial officers and were destined to the court in Beijing. \r\n\r\nThe design and technique of this green and yellow bowl are inspired by similar Ming examples of the 16th century. A taste for archaic shapes and designs developed at the imperial court during the Yongzheng and Qianlong reign (1736-95), leading to the emulation of several Ming types.","physicalDescription":"Porcelain bowl decorated with yellow and green glazes, and incised design of children playing with toys and instruments; two decorative bands run along the rim and the foot.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Unknown","id":"A1848"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"porcelain","id":"AAT10662"}],"techniques":[{"text":"glazing","id":"AAT53914"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"Porcelain with yellow and green glazes","categories":[{"text":"Porcelain","id":"THES48907"},{"text":"Ceramics","id":"THES48982"}],"styles":[{"text":"Qing","id":"AAT18478"},{"text":"Yongzheng","id":"AAT18484"}],"collectionCode":{"text":"EAS","id":"THES48596"},"images":["2010EF5822","2010DY9861","2009BY8510","2006BF9410","2017KC2822"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"136 (VA)","id":"THES49877"},"free":"","case":"7","shelf":"4","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"BOWL","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Jingdezhen","id":"x32230"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"1723-1735","earliest":"1723-01-01","latest":"1735-12-31"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"Gulland Gift","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Diameter","value":"14.5","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Diameter","value":"5.7","unit":"in","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"taken from register","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"'Da Qing Yong zheng nian zhi' in a double circle on the base","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"Made under the Yongzheng reign of the Great Qing","transliteration":"","type":"","note":""}],"objectHistory":"Given by Mrs. Julia C.
