It is related in style and in the use of black mastic inlay to two similar lavabos in Berlin.","physicalDescription":"The Lavello consists of an upper basin with two lion masks and a lower oval basin. The supports of the upper and lower basins are carved with garlands and classical ornament. The area behind the lavello is faced with yellowish white marble surrounded by a border of black touch. To left and right are protruding pilasters of Istrian stone, inlaid with a foliated design in black mastic. These rest on square Istrian stone supports inlaid with marble. Above are three receding horizontal cornices or shelves, the edges of which are also inlaid with mastic. The lower cornice rests on simple consoles rising from the pilaster capitals. the middle cornice is supported by protruding consoles in the form of cornucopias. And the upper cornice by consoles with inlaid decoration. The areas between the three cornices are faced with the same marble as the background of the lower part. At the top are two scrolls and a central vase or urn. The vase and the sides of the three cornices are inlaid with mastic, as is also the underside of the lowest
