Despite the large numbers of these decorative roundels, the exact composition of the present relief doe not appear to be parallelled amongst the known corpus. The style of the sculpture is also somewhat different from the majority of pieces, showing a more energetic, less rigid character.","physicalDescription":"The roundel is carved with confronting lines on each side of a foliated stem.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Unknown","id":"A1848"},"association":{"text":"","id":""},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[],"techniques":[{"text":"carving","id":"AAT53149"}],"materialsAndTechniques":"stone","categories":[{"text":"Architectural fittings","id":"THES48994"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"SCP","id":"THES48600"},"images":["2018KY5305"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"002","id":"THES398270"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Roundel confronting lions","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Venice","id":"x29237"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"second half of the 12th century","earliest":"1150-01-01","latest":"1200-12-31"},"association":{"text":"carved","id":"AAT53149"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[{"object":{"text":"A.35-1931","id":"O16292"},"association":""}],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Diameter","value":"38.4","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[],"objectHistory":"","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Roundel, relief,","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Pope-Hennessy, John. <u>Catalogue of Italian Sculpture in the Victoria and Albert Museum.</u> London: Her Majesty's Stationary Office, 1964. pp.25"},{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Rizzi, A.
