It seems to have consisted of three traditional dances to traditional-style music - Danza Texana, a Jarabe Tapatia and a Diana Mexicana. The music was by Manuel Castro Padilla and the scenery and costumes by Adolfo Best-Maugaro. The setting suggested a large, colourful, Mexican shawl.\n\nWhen first performed in London, the <i>Daily Telegraph</i>, 19 June 1920, noted  that ‘the curtain fell to  tumultuous applause.' It was noted that the dances had 'distinctly Spanish characteristics, rhythmic and otherwise, attached to more than one of them'. Of Pavlova it was said that 'delightfully quaint were her movements both in that and another dance – and extraordinarily becoming, as well as picturesque, the national costume she wore – while the last dance of all proved as jolly and exhilarating a thing in its characteristic way as anything you could wish to see, and her performance of it a pure joy in its complete realisation of that mood.’ ","physicalDescription":"Posed on-stage photograph of two women and two men in Mexican dress.
