He also probably worked with Andrea della Robbia whose glazing techniques he learnt. In the early 1480 he opened his own shop, producing work in the style of della Robbia, Verrocchio, Antonio Rossellino, or Benedetto da Maiano.","physicalDescription":"Three angels are kneeling on a base of a cloud in girdled tunics holding an unfurled scroll and singing from it.","artistMakerPerson":[{"name":{"text":"Buglioni, Benedetto","id":"A2470"},"association":{"text":"sculptor","id":"x43862"},"note":""}],"artistMakerOrganisations":[],"artistMakerPeople":[],"materials":[{"text":"terracotta","id":"AAT10669"}],"techniques":[],"materialsAndTechniques":"Terracotta","categories":[{"text":"Religion","id":"THES48900"},{"text":"Sculpture","id":"THES48896"}],"styles":[],"collectionCode":{"text":"SCP","id":"THES48600"},"images":["2017JY2284","2017JX7611"],"imageResolution":"high","galleryLocations":[{"current":{"text":"006","id":"THES333156"},"free":"","case":"","shelf":"","box":""}],"partTypes":[[{"text":"Group three angels singing","id":""}]],"contentWarnings":[{"apprise":"","note":""}],"placesOfOrigin":[{"place":{"text":"Florence","id":"x28848"},"association":{"text":"made","id":"x28654"},"note":""}],"productionDates":[{"date":{"text":"late 15th century to early 16th century","earliest":"1450-01-01","latest":"1550-12-31"},"association":{"text":"modelled","id":"x30779"},"note":""}],"associatedObjects":[],"creditLine":"","dimensions":[{"dimension":"Height","value":"31.4","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Width","value":"35.6","unit":"cm","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""},{"dimension":"Weight","value":"5.3","unit":"kg","qualifier":"","date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"part":"","note":""}],"dimensionsNote":"","marksAndInscriptions":[{"content":"Three angels are kneeling on a base of a cloud in girdled tunics holding an unfurled scroll and singing from it.","inscriber":{"name":{"text":"","id":""},"association":{"text":"","id":""}},"date":{"text":"","earliest":null,"latest":null},"description":"","interpretation":"","language":"","medium":"","method":"","position":"","script":"","translation":"","transliteration":"","type":"","note":""}],"objectHistory":"The group most likely formed part of a composition of the Nativity, being the group of angels conventionally placed in the upper part of the composition, singing the 'Gloria in excelsis'.","historicalContext":"","briefDescription":"Terracotta group of three Angels singing, Italy, Florence, late 15th or early 16ht century","bibliographicReferences":[{"reference":{"text":"","id":""},"details":"","free":"Inventory of Art Objects Acquired in the Year 1857. <u>In</u>: <u>Inventory of the Objects in the Art Division of the Museum at South Kensington, Arranged According to the Dates of their Acquisition.
