Colours: blue, red and green. \nThe prefaces to the various books are usually introduced by smaller decorative initials. Francisci in conventu S. Pelagi Vicentiae qui postea Episcopus Vicentinus fuit et tandem SS. Pontifex sub nomine Alexandri V' (translating as: 'Bible handwritten by  brother Domenico, of the order of St Francis in the convent of St Pelagius in Vicenza who later was bishop of Vicenza and also pope under the name of Alexander V'). Piero Philarghi (b. 1339-1410) became a Franciscan before studying in Oxford and Paris. He had no known links with Vicenza before being elected bishop of Vicenza in 1387. He was elected Pope as Alexander V in June 1409. \n2) Collection of Count Jacopo Maximiliano Collato di San Salvatore of Treviso, 1771: his book-plate, engraved by T.
