Chinese potters started to produce large quantities of procelain especially for this export trade. Typical were the dishes with compartilised borders containing floral motifs and Chinese symbols suspended from ribbons in a style that became know as 'Kraak' procelain.\r\nThe potters of Delft began to imitate this style while improving the quality of their product in order to compete with Chinese porcelain.","physicalDescription":"Earthenware dish with oriental floral pattern with central vase and flowers, border  in compartments, painted in blue.
