His work celebrates the textiles, weaving traditions and embroidery techniques practiced by Moroccan artisans for generations. This dress, with matching collar and cuffs, references the handira, a traditional Moroccan wedding blanket, made of white woven wool and embellished with sequins. Such blankets would be laid over a matrimonial bed and serve a talismanic function to protect the new bride.\r\nThe dress is part of a collection entitled She has 99 names. Adduchi describes the collection as seeking to celebrate the complexity of people. Adduchi collaborated with a diverse team of migrant makers on the collection, including seamstresses, embroiderers and carpenters from Morocco, Syria, Russia, and Eritrea, all of whom are now based in the Netherlands.
